Goalsetter Systems Installed at Famed Rucker Park
New York- March 15, 2008 -- The proving ground for the world’s best players is once again home to two Goalsetter Signature Series MVP Basketball Systems. The systems anchor the famed basketball court in New York’s Rucker Park.
The March 15 installations marked the return of Goalsetter to Rucker Park after park officials tried a competitive system for a year.
“The Goalsetter system is ideal for the Entertainers Basketball Classic at Rucker Park men’s tournament and adjustable enough for the biddy (kids) division to play,” says Greg Marius, CEO of the EBC at Rucker Park. “It can hold up to the best players in the country banging and hanging nightly.”
Each of the new Goalsetter systems features a regulation-size, shatterproof competition backboard. An internal height adjustment mechanism allows the user to easily set the hoop and backboard anywhere from 6 feet to 10 feet above ground to accommodate players of any age and skill level.
The legendary Rucker Park court has long been consideredthe home of the best streetball in the world, including the Entertainers Basketball Classic that features some of the finest professional and amateur athletes and celebrities to have ever played the game. Rucker Park’s
alumni include Hall of Famers such as Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul Jabar, Julius “Dr. J.” Erving and Earl “The Pearl” Monroe as well current stars Stephon Marbury, Eldon Brand, Ron Artest and Jamal Tinsley.
