Le Bron James Shoots On "The Best In Basketball" - June 2010

Playground World (Avon, Ohio) had the opportunity to install two Goalsetter MVP basketball goal systems at the home of Le Bron James, NBA star basketball player with the Cleveland Cavaliers. On Friday, 6/4/2010, LeBron was interviewed by CNN's Larry King. The interview took place on Le Bron's full size home basketball court, which is aptly named "King James Court" and green in color. During the interview, LeBron and Larry took turns shooting basketballs at one of the MVP's. Iowa Sports Connection - June 2010

Starting in June and running through November, Goalsetter Systems will be promoting its products through the Iowa Sports Connection. A 12 year old company, their mission statement is to “Promote positive participation in youth sports by recognizing active Iowans from the Pee-Wee’s to the Preps to the Pros.” President and founder, Mike Rickord, started the company out of his garage. As he followed his own sons youth sports activities, he realized that there was a need to recognize parents coaches, and the youth who were participating in the numerous programs around the state of Iowa.

Goalsetter will appear in the August Pigskin Preview and November Basketball Preview issues of the Iowa Sports Connection magazine that has a readership of over 75,000. The magazine can be picked up at Casey and Scheels stores. A :30 radio ad will air for 26 weeks on Iowa Sports Connection's Friday Night and Saturday morning shows. Their radio coverage includes the entire state of Iowa. Many of the Iowa stations are listened to in Illinois, Nebraska, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.


The Goalsetter Story - May 2010

Goalsetter Systems, Inc's employees and basketball goal manufacturing operations located in Sully, Iowa were highlighted in a Midwest Sports Weekly cable television story that aired the week of May 23, 2010. Featured in the story were interviews with Dale Brand and Faye Brand describing Goalsetter System's 19 year history of manufacturing its high quality basketball goal system. Film footage of operations on the manufacturing floor to produce the basketball goal demonstrated Goalsetter's state of the art equipment and commitment to quality.

Midwest Sports Weekly is an All Positive Sports Human Interest Show featuring unique individuals, players, administrators, companies, communities, and teams all across the Midwest. It is seen in 11 states in the Midwest reaching some 10 million households each week and is hosted by Kim Baker. Midwest Sports Weekly is broadcast on the stations of Mediacom, KCWI/KDMI, MCG, Jcable, CCV, FCS, RVTcable, and COX.

Hoopin For A HOOP - April 2010

(Pella, IA) Kobe Diers (age 11) has a goal to make 1000 - 3 pointers between April 28 and May 5 to raise enough money to purchase a Goalsetter Systems basketball goal system for the Raining Season Orphanage kids in Sierra Leone, Africa. The Orphanage houses 80-90 children. Kobe came up with idea to rasise money after he saw photos his mother had taken from a recent trip to Leone, Africa. Kobe went around the town of Pella and asked people to donate $.05 to $.10 cents per 3-pointer he made in the month of April. His goal was 1,000, and to raise $1,000. He was able to raise $1,800, which was enough to buy two Goalsetter basketball hoops for the Orphanage. On June 8th, between 7-8 pm, Kyle Kover and Kobe will be at the Sports Page in Pella with Kobe to try and raise money for more hoops. All the money from the Seer Shirts (Kyle Kover's apparel line) sold will go to buying more hoops for another orphanage close to Raining Season Orphanage.


Goalsetter Goals At Scottie Pippen's Home - April 2010

(Sully, IA) Goalsetter Dealer Versacourt installed two Goalsetter Signature Series MVP's at Scottie Pippen's home court in Florida. Scottie Pippen was instrumental in helping the Chicago Bulls win six NBA Championships and a record 72 wins in their 1996 season. Pippen was named to the NBA All-Defensive First Team eight times and the All-NBA First Team three times. He was a seven-time NBA All Star and was the NBA All Star Game MVP in 1994. He is one of four players to have their jerseys retired by the Chicago Bulls. Pippen had a seventeen year career in the NBA (Bulls-12, Rockets-1, Trail Blazers-4). He will be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame this year.

Renew Rural Iowa Entrepreneur Award Winner - September 2009

(Sully, IA)­ Progress, diversification and innovationRenew Rural Iowa Award helped Goalsetter System's parent company, Co-LineWelding win the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation's (IFBF) Renew Rural Iowa entrepreneur of the month award for September. Co-Line Welding manufactures the in-ground basketball goal systems for Goalsetter Systems. Ken Root, WHO Radio, along with representatives from the Farm Bureau, Iowa Area Development, Pella REC, and JEDCO presented the award to Dale Brand (President, Co-Line Welding) during a small ceremony on Friday, September 18, 2009. This was the 26th time the award has been given by the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation. It demonstrates others outside the organization recognize the effort and hard work each employee has put into to making Co-Line Welding a successful and desired place to work. Two years ago, a tornado severely damaged the Co-Line Welding campus. The tenacity and effort of the employees enabled operations to be restored within days of the tornado.

"This is an impressive company in many ways. For one thing, the company's can-do spirit helped them all pitch in together and rebuild after a devastating tornado in September of 2007. Always on the cutting edge, Co-Line is a model of manufacturing efficiency and it's no wonder they not only succeed, their standards have ensured very satisfied global customers," says Sandy Ehrig, IFBF economic development advisor.

Iowa Energy and Goalsetter Systems Sponser House Of Mercy Basketball Clinic
- August 2, 2009

(Des Moines, IA)­ Thanks to the generosity of the Iowa Energy and GOALSETTER Systems®, 61 children from the House of Mercy (HOM) and the Des Moines community learned about the sport of basketball at a free clinic held at the House of Mercy on August 2nd from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Coach Nick Nurse and assistant coaches Nate Bjorkgren and Lefty Moore from the Iowa Energy worked with young players, ages 6 – 13, from HOM, Urban House Of Mercy Basketball CampDreams, Creative Visions and Warren County. They learned shooting, ball handling and other basketball skills. The clinic was made possible in part by GOALSETTER Systems® of Sully, IA, who donated two GOALSETTER® adjustable state-of-the-art basketball goals to replace aging equipment at HOM."These basketball goals will benefit the children at HOM and the neighborhood long after the clinic," said Dale Brand, Owner of Goalsetter Systems.
"We are truly blessed to have people like Coach Nick Nurse of the Iowa Energy and GOALSETTER Systems® as friends of the House of Mercy," said House of Mercy board chairman Paul Drey. "Through the sport of basketball, children who attended the clinic learned about an activity that was not only fun but also promoted wellness. This clinic also offered a positive
interaction with male role models who can teach life lessons like the benefits of hard work, integrity and team work. Many of the children we serve will benefit from this interaction."

VERSACOURT Teams Up For Youth Basketball Clinic - June 20, 2009

VersaCourt International, LLC, Goalsetter Basketball Systems, 810 WHB Sports Radio and University of Missouri Kansas City Men's and Women's basketball players teamed up to provide a youth basketball clinic Saturday June 20th at in the middle of the Kansas City Power & Light District in downtown Kansas City. Everyone attending had a great time including staff, volunteers, and children!
